Prose & Cons is a book club sponsored by the Rice Lake Public Library. It explores mystery and thriller novels. Books are chosen according to the availability of copies, suitability for discussion, and interest of the group. The books are chosen by group consensus. Everyone is welcome!

The Prose & Cons Book Club meets the third Monday of each month at 6 pm in the Bottom Shelf Room.

Prose & Cons was begun April 2009. Past book choices can be found below the line.

Featured Events

  • Job Hunting Advice. March 16, 23, & 30 @ 2 pm. This series of information sessions will guide participants in job hunting, resumes, interview etiquette, and more! This event is FREE and everyone is welcome!
  • Pageturners Book Club. April 1 @ 6 pm. Friendship Room. The book club will discuss the classic comedy Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns. It is a vivid portrait of small town life in the deep South at the turn of the century. Copies are available through the MORE system. No sign up necessary.
